Pride in Sport Tasmania Project (2025–2027) – Expression of Interest
For Tasmanian State Sporting Organisations and Community Sporting Clubs
Pride in Sport, with support from the Active Industry Project Fund, is delivering a two-year statewide initiative to strengthen LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport across Tasmania. This project provides education, policy support, community engagement, and opportunities for visibility and activation — all tailored to the unique needs of Tasmanian sporting organisations.
We’re inviting State Sporting Organisations (SSOs) and Community Sporting Clubs/Leagues/Associations (those run by volunteers) to express their interest in joining the Pride in Sport Tasmania Project.
✅ What’s involved?
Participating organisations will receive:
- Free access to LGBTQ+ inclusion workshops, led by experienced facilitators
- Tailored policy and governance support to help your sport meet best-practice standards
- Community engagement and visibility tools, including involvement in the Pride in Sport Festival
- Access to the Pride in Sport membership program (Community or SSO level depending on your organisation type)
- Networking opportunities, including roundtables and Communities of Practice
- National recognition and resources, including promotion through Pride in Sport channels
✅ What do we ask in return?
To participate, your organisation will be expected to:
- Attend at least one LGBTQ+ inclusion workshop or resource review
- Promote project activities to your local community and members
- Support basic evaluation by providing general participant feedback and activity data
- Confirm that your organisation has joined or is willing to join the National Redress Scheme
- Endorse this application at a leadership/board level
Participation is fully subsidised, and selected organisations will be supported through each step of the process by the Pride in Sport team.
